Relax for a couple of days here at our Spa in the small town of Blue Lake, near Arcata and Eureka.
Our Blue Lake Chumayo is inspired by a special village in New Mexico where Pueblo Indians once gathered to experience the healings that occurred in the hot mineral waters of the Sangre de Christo Mountains.
Massage & Sauna Our therapists offer a variety of massage modalities. Enjoy our private cedar sauna, then melt with a therapeutic massage. We love to do couples massages. The spiritual aspect of our massage is an integral part of the Chumayo Spa experience.
Southwest Desert Mineral Scrub A massage treatment with desert herbs, minerals and healing essence from a sacred place in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. A sage purification in our sauna follows. Our specialty.
Flotation Pool Our Flotation Pool is an enclosed room filled with a 10" deep saturated solution of water and Epsom salts. The floater experiences a deep quieting of the senses and drifts into a state of profound relaxation. The flotation pool is an extraordinary tool with a wide range of therapeutic uses. Enjoy silence in our pool, or listen to audio tapes. You will emerge from your float with a sense of mental clarity, renewed creativity, and physical well-being.
All spa services are by appointment.
Our Guest Room Our upstairs guest room comes with a kitchenette, basic cookware, private phone line, high speed Internet and television with DVD and VCR. There is a small film library. There is a private entrance and you also get a private outdoor deck area and hot tub. We hope you will find your visit here restful and regenerative.
Explore the small historic city of Blue Lake and walk on the trail along the nearby Mad River. Live theatre performances are offered at various times during the year at Dell'Arte across the street. Photos and more information are available at our website.
