Welcome to a fifth generation family home. The Hydrangea Inn was built in 1930, by Housby and Lax. It was a home for the inn keeper, Renée Chappelle's Great-Great Aunt, Jenny Harvey Tuttle, and has been kept in the family for five generations.
Renée has rehabilitated 12 houses during her construction and various careers, eight of those over 50 years of age. In 2007, she won the Eureka Heritage Society's, 'Residential Preservation Award' for her rehabilitation of the house on The Monroe Bottling Company site at 916 A Street.
The innkeeper is very honored to share this beautiful inn, and its history, with travelers to the Northcoast.
The inn has a private, detached bungalow for guests to stay. The bungalow includes a full living/dining room, kitchenette and private bathroom. The stay here also includes a delivered hot morning breakfast basket, free WIFI, and a large flat screen TV with access to cable.
The Trillium Suite is a beautiful collection of rooms that have been created with guest comfort and luxury in mind.
At the top of the grand staircase, you will find a French door that leads to your private space. The suite includes a large bedroom with a king-sized bed. The separate living room features comfortable furnishings that include antiques and family heirlooms. It also has a fully stocked, modern kitchenette, large private bathroom and windows that fill the room with beautiful natural light.
