Stay at a vacation retreat in the victorian village of Ferndale
The Victorian Village of Ferndale has been dubbed one of America’s prettiest towns. It is a well-preserved turn of the century village with many attractions. The Historic Main Street District is full of boutiques, art galleries, and antique shops, all worth a visit.
You can explore the rich history of the village by heading down to the Ferndale Museum, which even offers walking tours of the town. Also located on Main Street is the Ferndale Repertory Theatre, offering shows throughout the year, plus special music performances if you are looking for an evening of entertainment. Another attraction just a short distance from Main Street is the pioneer cemetery that overlooks the town. With its century old historic markers this is definitely an interesting landmark to visit.
Also within easy walking distance of downtown is Russ Park, Ferndale's bird sanctuary. This 105-acre preserve offers several miles of trails and excellent views of the Eel River Valley in which Ferndale is nestled.
