Guided only by candlelight, experience the stillness and beauty of the ancient redwoods.
Friday November 30th and Saturday December 1, 2018
This family-friendly event has become increasingly popular and will be held over two consecutive nights, providing a rare opportunity for participants to walk on a path through the old-growth redwoods at night starting at 6 p.m. Prior to the walk at 5 p.m., light refreshments and auctions will be held at the visitor center.
Begin the evening at the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park Visitor Center, then enjoy a ranger-led walk through the ancient redwood forest lit by 400 luminaries, a warm campfire and stories for all ages by the North Coast Storytellers. Participants then return to the visitor center for refreshments. $10 per person. Tickets will become available Nov 1 2018.
Dress warmly, wear sturdy shoes for the half-mile walk and bring a candle that is enclosed in a plastic cup (along with a flashlight for the walk back from the campfire.)
In case of rain, the entire program will be held in the Visitor Center. Sponsored by Redwood Parks Association (707) 464-9150
