Arcata Bay Oyster Festival

Now in its 33rd iteration, this year the Oyster Festival returns to its roots on the downtown Arcata Plaza. There will be food vendors of all types, with many showcasing oysters locally-grown in the Arcata Bay. We will feature local brews and fine wines to wash down those culinary delights and live bands and DJs to get the crowd moving. The Kids Zone will have a bounce house and fun activities to ensure smiles for younger attendees. Also returning this year are the traditions that have made the Oyster Festival an iconic cultural event in Humboldt County, including: The Shuck and Swallow Contest, The Oyster Calling Contest, and the Best Oyster Contest. Artisans from across Northern California will be showcasing handmade creations in their booths in addition to the Plaza shops and Farmers Market. With a Kids Zone, great local art, beer, wine, food, music, and OYSTERS, there is truly something for everyone.

Arcata Main Street partners with Mad River Brewery to bring you the Arcata Bay Oyster Festival and offer a lineup of great beers including the launch of a new beer that pairs perfectly with oysters. The beer, playfully named "Shuck It" for the event will be showcased at the festival as well as on tap at Arcata restaurants and bars before the event.
