Warning: LANDSLIDE CLOSES AVENUE OF THE GIANTS AT WEOTT – 2/21/2024
A small portion of State Route 254, the Avenue of the Giants, is fully closed to all traffic between Lum Street in Weott and the
Marin Garden Club Grove (post mile markers 18.44 to 18.57). Much of the Avenue of the Giants is still accessible.

There is no estimated time for reopening. Please use Hwy 101 as the alternate and follow the signage. For updated road conditions,

The Humboldt County Visitors Bureau

The Bureau is the authorized Destination Marketing & Management Organization (DMMO) for Humboldt County, whose mission is ensure and enhance the positive economic impact of tourism by keeping Humboldt front and center for state, national and international visitors.

As a California 501(C)6 nonprofit mutual-benefit corporation (tax ID 94-2543992), The Bureau is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors who represent diverse regions, organizations, and businesses throughout the County.

The Bureau is funded by the County of Humboldt and multiple regional entities whose areas and businesses are supported by tourism revenue.

As the County DMMO, the Bureau is a regional leader dedicated to representing all Humboldt as a sustainable and vibrant visitor destination, ensuring economic growth through a multi-platform marketing strategy, collaborations, and a strong network of national and international media.

Humboldt County is the current chair of the North Coast Tourism Council, a marketing partnership between Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino and Lake Counties (www.northofordinaryca.com). The Bureau also serves on the Visit California Rural Counties Committee and the Cal Travel Cannabis Tourism Committee.
